Annual Salary $55,000 - $70,000
The Specialist is responsible for supporting the successful planning, quotation, coordination, and execution of design-build projects from concept through completion.
Working closely with customers, contractors, suppliers, and internal Gerrie teams, this role develops and delivers cost-effective project solutions that maximize customer value, project profitability, and operational efficiency.
Through strong technical knowledge, project management discipline, and exceptional customer service, the Project Coordinator ensures projects are executed accurately, on schedule, and in accordance with customer requirements and Gerrie Electric standards.
PLANNING AND QUOTATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES
Determine the viability of a project for Gerrie in collaboration with applicable Branch or Sales resources as required
Interpret the customer’s requirements from available specifications, drawings or in-person consultation to determine Gerrie’s potential scope of work and the best possible solution for the customer
Work closely with selected vendors to arrive at the most cost-effective solution while meeting the customers’ expectations
Utilize other Gerrie teams to provide a complete solution for the customer
Compile and compare various vendor quotes to determine best fit for the project in coordination with Branch or Sales resources where applicable.Â
Determine the project quotation value based on a margin applicable for the opportunity, risk or known competition. Margins below company minimums must be preapproved by the Manager.
Quotation cost and design details to be maintained in a designated data storage location.
Submit a detailed and professional quotation to the customer utilizing current Project Services business application and procedures
Follow-up on project and answer any questions pertaining to the quotation
Adherent to the company’s standard policies and procedures
COORDINATION AND EXECUTION RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete project documentation customer utilizing current Project Services business application and procedures
Creating project timelines for delivery of products or services and progress billings where applicable
Coordination of approval drawings and specification with customers, suppliers or consulting engineers
Ensuring timely delivery of products and solutions to meet the customers’ expectations while maintaining close cost controls
Coordinate pricing of change orders with suppliers and internal Gerrie resources as needed
Coordinate credit issues with Gerrie credit department and/or related Branch or Sales resources
Ensures issues are escalated to appropriate management for prompt investigation and action as required
Keep Customer owner informed about project status and issues that may impact customer relations and project success
Ensure project close out documentation is complete including As-build packages and warranty letters from Suppliers
Provides input to Sales management for revenue and margin forecast for managed projects
Interact with customers and suppliers in a professional and timely manner

What you bring to the table
Technical college diploma and 5+ years of experience in the electrical industry
Strong understanding of electrical products, distribution systems products, engineering specifications as well as lighting and control system designs and application.Â
Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, construction drawings, and lighting layouts
Excellent communication, math, organizational, and time management skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
Customer-focused with a strong work ethic and sales-oriented mindset
Proficient in Microsoft Office and PDF software; JD Edwards experience is an asset
Established relationships with manufacturers and contractors are considered a strong asset
Technical knowledge of electrical distribution products and solutions is preferred
Project Management experience or recognition would be an asset.
Personable, sales orientated and good work ethic.
