Technical Specifications
Penn-Union™ by Techspan® Crimp Splice, Type BBCU Long Barrel, 4 AWG Conductor, 2.38 in Length, 35 kV, Copper, TiN Coated, Gray
The BBCU4 Long Barrel Copper Splice is designed to create secure, permanent connections between 4 AWG copper conductors. It is manufactured from high-conductivity seamless copper tubing to support efficient current flow and dependable electrical performance. The tin-plated finish helps protect the connector from corrosion, making it suitable for a wide range of electrical installations.
The long barrel design increases the contact area between the conductor and connector. This helps improve both mechanical retention and electrical conductivity. A beveled entry allows for easier wire insertion during installation, while the built-in cable stop helps ensure the conductor is inserted to the proper depth before crimping.
The connector is color-coded gray and marked with die index information to simplify tool selection and installation. It is compatible with several common industry crimping systems and is suitable for use in low- and medium-voltage applications when installed according to accepted practices.
