Inventory Control Specialist - Distribution Centre

What you'll be doing

This position is responsible for overseeing inventory related functions and responsibilities at the warehouse. The incumbent of this role will provide advice and guide staff as required to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with our vendors.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT/ ANALYTICAL ACTIVITIES

Perform physical inventory counts on short timelines.

Maintain Over Short & Damage (OS&D) program.

Processing claims and warehouse transfers.

Inspecting and correcting Inventory Diagnostic.

Entry and release of count plans within the Warehouse Management System.

Picking support for stock outages, incorrect articles, and damage goods found during processing.

Transactions balance over and under location discrepancies within the Warehouse Management System.

Identifies nonconformities and potential nonconformities.

Participate in initiatives designed to improve operational efficiencies and or effectiveness as required.

Review stock regularly for damage.

Ensure all material is stored properly and in the correct bin location.

Assist/support the annual physical inventory count and associated activities.

Responsible for reports such as Inventory adjustment report etc. 

Recommend technical solutions to promote better/faster response to customer needs.

Support DC Manager for any control non-conformance/Improvement tool issues including providing input to Continuous Improvement Teams for 5Why with Short and Long-term Actions.

Ensure All ISO policies and procedures are adhered too.

Responsible to learn Auto store automated equipment technology and interfaces with JDE. And staff according to meet daily requirements for inputs and outputs. 

Including but not limited to following proper inventory management/practices to ensure accurate inventory levels in Exacta matching JDE.

Troubleshoot equipment and make recommendations regarding improvement opportunities.

What you bring to the table

Post-secondary education is preferred in a related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.

Must have Operational knowledge (product, company, policies, etc.)

Ability to think methodically and represent risks/impact of ideas brought forward.

Good communication skills, including both written and verbal, listening and ability to give feedback.

Additional proven skills required: problem solving, decision making, time management,

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Must be flexible with adapting to and learning new technologies.

Working knowledge of bar coding and RF scanning

Forklift license (Cherry Picker).

High level of attention to detail.

Requires and understanding of warehouse operations.

Proven ability to investigate, analyze and reconcile inventory discrepancies.

Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel-IF Statements, Macros, Formulas, Pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle, JDE, and JDE WMS products.
